Sermon Takeaways Advent 3 Jumping For Joy: Isaiah 35:1-10; John 15:2-14
4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can
you bear fruit unless you remain in me.. 5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you,
you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
ï‚· No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.
ï‚· If we remain in Him, we have access to the life-giving, abundant fruit of The Spirit. (See Gal.5:22-23)
6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up,
thrown into the fire and burned.
ï‚· Judgment -
ï‚· Before they make a decision on their status… What do we have to look forward to “In Jesus”?
7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to
my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
ï‚· We will discern the Father’s will much clearer.
ï‚· The things we ask for or focus on will be of the fruits The Spirit of God enables.
ï‚· We are bearing God’s glory and showing ourselves to be Jesus Disciples
ï‚· As we have them available and God presents them alongside our request that causes thirst.
9 – 14 “V9 -We are loved with heavenly purpose and belonging… in Jesus, as Jesus is loved.
ï‚· VV9-10 - We have the joy that accompanies Jesus in the love of the Father
ï‚· V11 -And that our Joy in the Lord would be complete, nothing else matters
ï‚· V13 - Jesus calls us Friend. How do we know? He laid His life down for us.
ï‚· V14 – Do we call Jesus friend? How do we know? If we do what He commands. Love one another.
